STORY: Harry Redknapp launches jam roly poly business

Football manager, I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here contestant and all-round good guy Harry Redknapp has launched an online jam roly poly business with Heidi bakery, Harry’s Roly Poly’s.

Each jam roly poly will be hand-rolled by Heidi’s staff in a kitchen at the Daniel department store in Windsor, where Redknapp will act as executive chef.

Heidi was founded 18 years ago by Heidi Daniel in Windsor, and she now also has a second bakery at Elphicks department store in Farnham, Surrey.

As to why he’s done it, Harry said: “When I was in the jungle, the thought of one thing kept me going: jam roly polys – I love ‘em so much.”

They are being sold online at £18 each, and Homelessness charity Hope Housing will get 20% of the profits from each roly poly. Hope Housing provides housing support to homeless people in Bournemouth, as well as training and education to residents to help them move into independent living.

But in radical news, Harry has chosen to go with strawberry jam over the traditional raspberry, as he says this is how he likes it at home: “Traditionally they are made with raspberry jam, but we always make them with strawberry jam and that’s how I like them.

“I know this might be controversial, but we’ve tried many different roly polys in the Redknapp household, and my version is definitely the best!”
