STORY: The Hummingbird Bakery will re-open on Portobello Road

Iconic American bakery and world-renowned stalwarts on the London dessert scene, The Hummingbird Bakerywill re-open the Portobello Road bakery in Notting Hill mid-February, once it’s received a stylish makeover.

Located on the iconic road in Notting Hill, 133 Portobello Road is the first bakery The Hummingbird Bakery opened when it launched in 2004. Favourite among locals and also a popular tourist spot, The Humming Bakery is renowned for introducing Red Velvet cakes to Great Britain. 

The bakery will reveal its new look just in time for Valentine’s Day and it will have a customisation station, sleek marble countertops and flashes of signature Hummingbird Pink; reflecting the new style of The Hummingbird Bakery as seen in recent openings in Victoria and St John’s Wood. Much awaited Red Velvet soft serve ice cream will be a perfect addition during summer months when visiting the Notting Hill famous market.

Notting Hill locals can enjoy signature cheesecakes, traditional American pies, birthday cakes, cheesecakes, brownies and cookies. Along with the classic cupcake range you will find new delicious cupcakes, exclusive to Portobello Road on the opening day. 

To celebrate the re-opening of Portobello Road Bakery, guests will be greeted by the Bakershop Quartet.
Visitors to the new Portobello Road bakery can customise their desserts and celebration cakes in store by a team of expert bakers and order a new Red Velvet soft serve ice cream at the Personalisation Station.

The Hummingbird Bakery has gathered a legion of loyal followers and is well-known for their celebration treats that bring love and joy to customers' lives. It has five bakeries in London and there are plans to open more bakeries in 2023. The Spitalfields bakery is due to close for a makeover soon.
