NATIONAL BAKERY AWARDS 2025 - NOMINEES ANNOUNCED
Hundreds of bakeries chosen as the country’s best
Over 220 bakeries are now in the running for a National Bakery Awards
Bakeries across the UK are once again celebrating, with more than 220 businesses raising a glass after being nominated for a National Bakery Award. The annual event, returning to London on Tuesday 25 November, will showcase a vibrant mix of venues by naming 91 bakeries as the best in their respective counties.
This year brings a fresh twist, as the 91 County Winners will be revealed live on the night, alongside Highly Commended venues in each area. In total, 229 bakeries from across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland have secured a place on the shortlist.
“The aim of the National Bakery Awards is simple,” says Sam White, Director of Bakery Business magazine, the organiser of the event. “We want to shine a light on the brilliance of these businesses and highlight the vital role bakeries play in communities across the UK. It has never been tougher for our industry than it is right now. From craft bakeries at the heart of villages to large-scale plant bakeries, every one of them deserves recognition and the chance to reach more customers – and we hope these awards can help make that happen.”
Judges will assess a range of factors that shape the customer journey, from marketing and digital presence to innovation, service, product range, and acquisition. The shortlisted bakeries now have more than six weeks to celebrate their achievement before heading to the National Bakery Awards grand final in November.
Taking place at Big Penny Social in London, the final will bring all 229 nominees together for a night of celebration, culminating in the announcement of County and Regional Winners. Other honours to be awarded on the night include Social Enterprise Bakery of the Year, Young Baker of the Year, Outstanding Contribution to Bakery, and the ultimate prize – National Bakery of the Year.
