Greggs Targets 120 New Stores in 2026 Following Strong Sales Year

Greggs is gearing up for another year of expansion, aiming to open around 120 net new stores in 2026 as it builds on a highly successful financial performance. The bakery chain continues to pursue growth by entering new locations while also updating and relocating existing outlets to optimise trading potential.

In the past year, Greggs achieved a total turnover of approximately £2.2 billion, reflecting continued resilience in the face of challenging consumer conditions. The company added more than 120 net new shops over the year, bringing its total estate to nearly 2,740 locations across the UK.

Looking ahead, Greggs plans a carefully managed rollout strategy that balances growth in untapped areas with improvements to current sites. Supply chain and operational investments are also being prioritised to support the expanded store network, ensuring the company can meet customer demand efficiently and maintain its reputation for quality and convenience.
