Morrisons has temporarily renamed one of its best-selling bakery products as part of a nationwide fundraising campaign for end-of-life charity Marie Curie.

Throughout August, the retailer's popular Coburg Cob will be sold as the 'Cob for Care', with 25p from every loaf purchased donated directly to the charity. The limited-edition loaves feature a distinctive yellow label inspired by Marie Curie's iconic daffodil emblem, helping customers identify the charitable product in-store.

The initiative forms part of Morrisons' wider Every Pack Gives Back campaign, which sees donations generated through the purchase of selected promotional products across its stores and online.

Freshly baked each day by Morrisons' Market Street bakery teams, the Coburg Cob is one of the supermarket's highest-volume bakery lines, with tens of thousands produced daily. The retailer said the campaign recognises the dedication of Marie Curie's nurses and healthcare assistants, many of whom provide care throughout the night while bakery teams begin baking in the early hours of the morning.

The supermarket's partnership with Marie Curie has already raised £7 million, with Morrisons aiming to generate £15 million for the charity by October 2027. Alongside the renamed loaf, customers can also support the campaign by purchasing participating products, donating More Card points or taking part in in-store fundraising activities taking place throughout August.

The campaign highlights how bakery staples can play a meaningful role in supporting charitable causes while encouraging shoppers to contribute through their everyday purchases.
