STORY: National Bakery School goes bananas and makes its own beer

To celebrate the National Bakery School's 125th anniversary, it is creating its own beer. The new banana bread beer is the result of a collaboration with Toast Ale and Orbit Beers – together they are using the National Bakery School's surplus bread to create a bespoke brew.

The launch was announced today on social media channels including Instagram, where @NationalBakerySchool said: “Through the use of leftover bread from student competitions and exams, a pale banana bread beer was born. A German Weissbier yeast to produce fruity esters complimented by some fruitier German hop varieties.”

But it went on to add that the only problem with the process is that despite having been 11 months in the making, it’ll be early September before the new creation is ready to be tasted.
