STORY: Cake Week is back!

After an exciting launch in 2020, the team at Nudge PR is delighted to announce the second Cake Week will take place from 30th August to 5th September 2021. A whole week dedicated to the nation’s favourite sweet treat, this year’s Cake Week will see a theme of ‘Sharing’ and the organisers at Nudge are inviting cake businesses to get involved.

Bakeries can take part by launching new cakes, creating cake sculptures, holding cake masterclasses and running offers. Whether it’s coffee and walnut, lemon drizzle or something more adventurous, the week gives the UK’s bakeries, bakers, ingredients and equipment companies an excuse to promote their businesses, drive sales and build their social media following.

2020 saw a great start despite the pandemic with over 20 pieces of coverage in national press as cake was celebrated across the country. The week saw a special Victoria Sponge Truffle made by master chocolatier, Paul A Young, as well as Rosalind Miller Cakes offering a Masterclass giveaway, an enormous display of beautiful cakes by Hackney baker, Lily Vanilli, tasty new recipes shared by Luminary Bakery from their new book, Rising Hope, and special discounts from Cornwall bakers, Black Box Cakes.

Cake Week is curated by Nudge PR whose pedigree includes launching Chocolate Week over 10 years ago. Chocolate Week became a nationwide occasion, with more than 200 events taking place across the UK that generated over 300 pieces of coverage in the media. The team will be working on building up Cake Week in order to promote cake to UK consumers, encouraging them to support their local bakeries, bake at home and eat more cake!
