STORY: Wrights launches new vegan savoury pastry range

Food manufacturer Wrights Food Group is launching its latest Wrights branded vegan savoury pastry range into foodservice.

The vegan range includes a Vegan Peppered Steak Slice, a Vegan Steak Pie, Vegan Chicken and Mushroom Pie, a Vegan Pasty and a Vegan six-inch Sausage Roll, complementing the brand’s existing vegan offering and wider savoury range.

“As one of the UK’s leading specialist food manufacturers, we supply a wide range of savoury pastries and ready meals to many of the UK’s foodservice distributors, top restaurant brands and independent bakers," says the brand's commercial director Helen Bowyer.

"For 96 years we have offered consistently high quality foods to consumers alongside that all-important convenience and choice for caterers.

“We are constantly evolving all of our ranges and for 2022 have prioritised the development and launch of an extended vegan offering for consumers looking for more plant-based out-of-home choices. We’ve developed vegan alternatives to our most popular fillings which are encased within our signature golden pastry and make a perfect complement to our meat-based savoury lines.”

The Wrights Food Group’s £30m manufacturing facility in Crewe produces more than 3m savoury products per week, including gastro pub pies, as well as ready meals for the hospitality and retail sectors.

The Group operates with a team of 600 across two sites in Crewe and includes 15 North West high street stores.
